Later we visited Caylen's house to see Lovebirds and then we played on the playground at Josh's families restaurant. We got back to school just as the rain started.
We are a class of 26 Year 3 and 4 students at Twizel Area School. Twizel is a small town surrounded by tussocks and mountains. We are the closest town to Aoraki Mount Cook.

Museum Teachers Come to Twizel
Today we walked to the Department of Conservation Visitor Centre to meet with Wendy and Keely from the Timaru Museum. They taught us more about birds and showed us a huge moa leg bone and egg. We drew some stuffed birds and identified their features. We even got to stroke a kiwi!

ReplyDeleteHi guys,
ReplyDeleteWow what an awesome day out you had. That Moa bone looks almost as long as you Georgia and the egg looked as big as Luca's head. There are some kiwis at the Orokonui Ecosanctuary near us but we haven't been down for a look or listen yet. Great to see you blogging and sharing your learning, good on you Mrs N! Will keep checking in to see how you are all getting on.
Best wishes,
Mr A and Mrs A.
We got to feel a real moa bone
