We are a class of 26 Year 3 and 4 students at Twizel Area School. Twizel is a small town surrounded by tussocks and mountains. We are the closest town to Aoraki Mount Cook.

Takahe Art
Our bird study is nearly finished. We have been doing some Takahe art. First we painted the background and used pastel too. Then we collaged our Takahe, glued them onto the backgrounds, and glued on some tussock and other features.
We think Tahake are special. We hope you like these photos of our art.

Museum Teachers Come to Twizel
Today we walked to the Department of Conservation Visitor Centre to meet with Wendy and Keely from the Timaru Museum. They taught us more about birds and showed us a huge moa leg bone and egg. We drew some stuffed birds and identified their features. We even got to stroke a kiwi!
Later we visited Caylen's house to see Lovebirds and then we played on the playground at Josh's families restaurant. We got back to school just as the rain started.
